History
In 2007 the Chevy Chase Kensington MOMS Club helped to sister our group. We were part of the original club boundaries but there were too many members for us to really know one another (over 100!). The Chevy Chase Kensington MOMS Club determined our boundaries to be the mothers of children who are zoned for either Garrett Park Elementary or Kensington Parkwood Elementary. Our name is a combination of these two schools.
In June of 2007 we were given our official paperwork from the MOMS International Organization in California and planned our first monthly business meeting. Our first meeting as a new club took place in July 2007 at the Garrett Park Pool.
We are eager to expand our membership and reach every stay at home mom who has an interest in our Club. We are always looking for new ideas and moms who can help implement those great ideas. Please let us know how you can help and we’d love to work with you.
